Announcing our 2023 Partnership with ArtsNOW 

The IPSF is excited to continue partnernering with ArtsNow which is a dynamic organization headquartered in Summit County.  ArtsNow’s mission is to connect arts, culture and community within Summit County and they do this with a dedicated group of people focused on building and strengthening a thriving arts scene and culture. In doing this, not only does ArtsNow enrich the community through the art it supports, but also  adds to the  economic vitality and social vibrancy of our region. 

With this partnership we are investing our time and the money raised by the foundation to help local artist leaders.  To do this, we’ve created a fund and advisory board that provides qualified local artists subsidies to participate in professional learning and leadership programs. Many local artists do not have the resources for the workshops and training needed to invest and advance in their careers. That’s where the fund  and the foundation’s partnership with ArtsNow provides support.  As was so important to Ian, the purpose of this fund is to “elevate the arts through Entrepreneurship,”  and we’re excited to work with ArtsNow to make this partnership a success for the artists and the community! We’ll be using the proceeds from our Third Annual IPSF Golf Outing to fund this important initiative. 

Our foundation is committed to this partnership and we are excited to be a part of seeing our local artists succeed!

Help support the Leadership Ohio Ian Schwarber Memorial Scholarship 

In 2019, Ian Schwarber was selectively chosen among numerous applicants to participate as a Fellow in Leadership Ohio (leadershipohio.org). Leadership Ohio is a civic leadership program dedicated to cultivating transformative statewide leadership development experiences to influence leaders to best serve their community, workplace, and the state of Ohio. As many of those who knew Ian might expect, he dove into the program and immediately began contributing and blogging about the experience through his social media accounts. It was quickly known that he was a leader among leaders. His participation, and his passing, left an indelible mark on the program itself.

Ian’s classmates, the Leadership Ohio Class of 2019, wanted to channel their collective grief into something impactful – something that would honor Ian’s legacy. They wanted that something to be specific to his Leadership Ohio legacy, and so with Leadership Ohio they established a one-time Ian Schwarber Memorial Scholarship to sponsor an Akron area candidate who would embody the same passionate attitude for which Ian was known.

We’re pleased to announce that since that time, in partnership with Leadership Ohio, the Ian P. Schwarber Foundation has elected to fund an Ian Schwarber Memorial Scholarship candidate annually. 

Funds raised through the ISPF will go towards funding the scholarship, covering the tuition of an extraordinary leader competitively selected by Leadership Ohio to serve in honor of Ian’s legacy.
